The urogenital IR-therapy apparatus “Uro-Biofon”

One of the main tasks for the medical and biological sector of the modern science is the development of the effective methods to prevent and treat the more dangerous diseases.

Perspective direction in the field of prevention and treatment of the various diseases is the development and application of the physiotherapeutic apparatuses that radiate the IR nontermal intensity electromagnetic waves.

The significant achievement in the treatment of many diseases is the “Uro-Biofon” IR-therapy urogenital apparatus, developed in Russia and constructed according to the RF Patent “Device for changing the biological cell activity”.

The apparatus is a small-sized, simple in operation device, designed on the whole for physiotherapeutic treatment of the urogenital system diseases just as in clinical, so in the ambulatory conditions, independently and in combination with the well-known medicaments and physiotherapeutic methods, including the preventive purposes. The apparatus is made on the base of two PIC-processors and represents the self-testing automatic device with the nonvolatile memory, liquid-crystal, light and sound displays, powered by two finger batteries.

The apparatus has passed the whole cycle of technical and medical tests, it has the permission of the Ministry of Health, conformity certificate and is produced in series by the Izhevsk mechanical plant.

In the process of influence the apparatus radiates the modulated electromagnetic waves of the nontermal intensity in the near-field IR range of 0.7 … 0.8 mkm (99% of radiated power) and the electromagnetic waves packets (photones of one polarization type) in the far-field IR range of 3:1000 mkm (less than 0.1% of the radiated power) and has an inactivated action on the pathogenic microorganisms of the families and kinds, listed below:

  3. Neisseriaceae (Neisseria, Moraxella, Acinetobacter, Kingella)
  4. Trichomonadidae

  6. Pseudomonadaceae
  7. Enterobacteriaceae (Escherichia, Klebsiella, Morganella, Salmonella, Shigella, Yersinia, Proteus etc.).
  8. Bacteroidaceae
  9. Mycobacteriaceae
  10. Gardnerella
  11. Mobiluncus
  12. Papovaviridae
  13. Enterococcus
  14. Candida
  15. Mycoplasmataceae (Mycoplasma, Ureaplasma)

Inactivation of the pathogenic microorganisms is accomplished at the expense of the conformational changes of the specific moleculus, built-in the plasmatic membrane under the influence of the polarized IR radiation. As a result the locking trans membrane potential El (lock) is established on the plasmatic membranes of the pathogenic microorganisms, the activity of the biochemical processes in the cell is reduced and the cell protection functions are relaxed.

The full elimination of the inactivated pathogenic cultures from the organism takes place in the result of their active displacement by the commensal autoflora and the intensive elimination by the immune system elements. However elimination from the organism of one or some pathogenic microorganisms of any kind or species does not increase, but decreases the organism resistance to the secondary settlement by the similar pathogenic microorganisms of the same kind or species as, firstly, the effective immune response for them does not form yet and, secondly, activity of commensal microorganisms of this kind or species remains low, but the number of their varieties is insufficiently high.

To increase the organism resistance to the secondary settlement by the pathogenic microorganisms, for example by the Staphylococcus, it is necessary to restore the commensal autoflore of this species and for this it is necessary to eliminate from the organism all pathogenic microorganisms, that depress the activity of the commensal Staphylococcus.

In the process of operation the apparatus inactivates not only the pathogenic kinds of Staphylococcus and its toxins, but the pathogenic kinds of viruses, bacteria, funguses, prions, unicellular protozoa (and their toxins), that depress the commensal Staphylococcus, thus restoring the activity and the number of the available commensal Staphylococcus cultures and creating the favourable conditions for settlement of the missing Staphylococcus commensal cultures.

The degree of the organism settlement by these or other cultures of any microorganisms species or family may be described by the window value W, that is determined by the formula:

W=(1-N/M)*100%

where: N – number of commensal cultures of any species, that settle the given organism; M – maximum number of the commensal cultures of any species, that can settle just as this organism, so other similar organisms.

Time of restore of the commensal autoflora of any species may vary in sufficiently wide limits, depending on a patient age, efficiency of his organism functioning, degree of dominating the commensal autoflora in the food over the pathogenic (especially in meat and milk products), ecological environment and on a patient’s circle of contacts.

It is necessary to take into account that the transmembrane potential of the pathogenic microorganisms Epath may vary in the wide limits and significally exceed the transmembrane potential of the normal cells, while the transmembrane potential of the commensal microorganisms Ecom must not exceed the normal transmembrane potential of the mammals cells.

To better understand the principle of the apparatus action let us consider its influence on the growth properties of the virulent, avirulent and saprophytic cultures of the microbacteria in the in vitro experiments carried out in the Ekaterinburg regional laboratory.

The results of 1865 test-tube experiments for the IR influence of the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus on the virulent cultures H37Rv, Bovinus-8, Avium, on the avirulent cultures H37Ra and on the saprophytic cultures Smegmatis are presented in the table 1.

In the 1st series only the sown test-tubes were subjected to the IR influence.

In the 2nd series the sown test-tubes and sowing on the culture medium (4 times a day during 5 weeks) were subjected to the IR influence.

The performed experiments have shown the depression of the growth of the virulent cultures H37Rv, Bovinus-8 and Avium in all series independently on the multiplicity and radiation duration. Delay of the growth speed in comparison with the control was 60-85%, microbe mass output reduced by 37-52%.

It is very important to note, that along with the depression of the growth of the virulent laboratory cultures and cultures, taken from the patients, it was shown that the speed of the growth of the avirulent cultures H3pKa increased by 15%, and the saprophytic cultures Smegmatis – 166%; it was also found that the microbe mass output increased by 28% and 173% respectively.

Increase in the growth speed and the microbe mass output of the avirulent and saprophytic culture after IR influence by the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus is obviously connected with the depression of the pathogenic microorganisms activity, that depress these cultures.

These in vitro experiments clearly show the principles of the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus operation, its high selectivity and efficiency in comparison with other known methods of inf;uence on the pathogenic microorganisms.

The State Research Centre of the Applied Microbiology has carried out the in vitro experiments to study the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus influence on such widespread microorganism cultures as Pseudomonas aerugenosa and Staphylococcus aureus (table 1).

The results of the experiment have shown that, firstly, after microorganisms treatment by the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus the number of colony-forming units for Ps is reduced by10-13 times, for St. – by 20-25%, the size of colonies is reduced for Ps by 3-4 times, for St. – 1-2 times; secondly, breathing intensity for Ps is reduced by 40-50%, for St. – 10-15%; thirdly, flow of UF absorbing matters from the cell increased for Ps – 6 times, for St – by 60%, the penetration of the bromide ethidium inside the cell is increased forPs – by 20-30% and for St – by 10-12%.

Thus, the results of the performed experiments show, that IR influence by the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus depresses the vital activity of Ps. aerugenosa and St. aureus and significally reduces the microorganisms breathing intensity. More significally the apparatus influences on the microorganisms membrane barrier function and together with the output of the natural cell components into the environment the increase of the penetretion intensity of the nonspecific for the microbe cell matters from the environment is observed.

It is interesting to study the results of “Uro-Biofon” apparatus influence on the Ch. trachomatis culture in the in vivo experiments, that were performed by the Rostov Research Institute of Microbiology and Parasitology, using the hen embryos.

The investigations of the IR influence by the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus on the hen embryos have shown the significant reduction of the embryos mortality when the Ch. trachomatis and Ch. psitaci “Lory” were introduced.

In the control groups that were not subjected to the IR influence, the mortality of the emdryos was 100%, in the pilot groups, when the embryos were subjected to the IR influence one time a day, the mortality of the embryos lowered to 20-60%.

The Rostov Research Institute of Microbiology and Parasitology has performed the investigations of “Uro-Biofon” influence on the rats reproduction and on the biochemical parameters that are characteristic for the physiologic systems functions of the animal organism.

Ten females and two males were used for investigating the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus influence on the rats reprduction. During 28 days the animals were subjected to the IR influence every day.

This group of animals gave the posterity of 63 rats, 57 rats lived to adults, 23 females and 34 males. From the first posterity there appeared the second posterity of rats. After 2.5 years since the investigation beginning there appeared more that six posterities of animals. While studying the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus influence on the biochemical indices it was found that IR influence does not cause the animals death, change in their behaviour, change of their hair cover state and of the mucous membranes, weight loss, refusal of food and water.

The total mass of animal’s body, mass of liver, myocarditis of the pilot group of animals did not differ from that of the control group of animals.

Animals blood analysis revealed the insignificant differences in the results of the pilot group in comparison with the control group.

Studying of the lipid fractions in the tissues and membranes of the erythrocytes showed, that the trustworthy differences between pilot and control groups were not available.

In the blood plasma the changes of the dien conjugates and Schiff’s bases level were not observed.

So, the investigations of the biochemical indices and white rats reproduction capability have showed the harmlessness of the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus and that it has no negative influence on the fine biochemical processes in the experimental animals organisms.

Let us consider the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus action efficiency in complex therapy of patients with chronic complicated urogenital chlamydiosis when the basic antibiotic therapy is used and when it is not used.

In the Udmurt Republic Skin-Venereological Dispensary the more extensive medical tests of the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus for treating the patients with the chronic urogenital chlamydiosis were performed without the antibiotic basic therapy application.

In the process of the clinical tests the treatment of 47 patients (25 women and 22 men), that were ill from 5 months to 8 years (3,4 years in average) was conducted, and 22 patients (47%) earlier have got the course of the antibacterial therapy.

Treatment was conducted by a single influence of the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus on the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 8th, 15th, 22nd days of the first month and on the 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd days of the second month. Clinical and laboratory monitoring of the recovery was performed in the month after the treatment course conducting. Control inspection was performed for 38 patients (19 women and 11 men). The efficiency of chronic urogenital chlamydiosis treatment by the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus without application of the basic antibiotic therapy was 78,9%

In the Moscow Regional Research Skin Institute the extended clinic tests were carried out by the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus in the complex therapy of the patients that have chronic complicated urogenital chlamydiosis using the immunotherapy (Bipheron candles by 500000 units two times a day during 30 days), local therapy (urethra instillation by 2% protargol solution, bathes with the 2% protargol solution, prostate massage, Vakshevich tamponage, seminal tubercle touching by the 10% silver nitrate solution), antibioticotherapy by two times shorten scheme (claritromicin by 250 mg inside two times a day during 10 days).

Therapy by means of the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus was carried out using the methods, described in the operation manual for the apparatus.

42 patients, suffered from chronic urogenital chlamydiosis (27 men and 15 women) were treated in the process of the medical and clinical tests. Duration of the disease varied from 6 months to 22 years (4.3 years in average). In the past 26 patients (62%) were treated unsuccessfuly from the urogenital chlamydiosis, 16 patients (38%) earlier got more than 2 courses of the antibioticotherapy.

Clinical and laboratory recovery monitoring was performed in 1 month after the treatment course completion.

The control investigation showed the absence of chlamydine infections for 33 patients (78.6%) (20 men and 13 women). 9 patients, the treatment of which was unsuccessful on the first stage, got the repeated course of antibioticotherepy by the claritromicine, 250 g inside two times a day during the second stage.

In the result all 9 patients got clinical and etiology recovery.

Thus, the efficiency of the chronic urogenital chlamydiosis treatment by means of the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus in the complex therapy was 100%.

In conclusion it may be noted that the availability of such new distinguishing features of the “Uro-Biofon” as high selectivity of influence, absence of influence on the person organism, capability to restore the person commensal autoflora and to increase the organism resistance to infections allow the apparatus to take the worthing place among the other physiotherapeutic apparatuses and it will promote more effective treatment of the urogenital diseases.
