On the base of this medical apparatus construction it is planned to develop a similar series of devices for treatment other widespread diseases (tuberculosis, tick-borne encephalitis, hemorrhagic fever, the grippe, adenovirus infections and so on).

Other apparatuses of the “Biofon” series are in the various stages of readiness (from design works to approbation in medical establishments).

At present a great number of diagnostic and treatment devices, that effed the biologically active points, has been applied in medicine. These devices use weak direct and alternating currents, coherent and noncoherent electromagnetic radiation, microwave and EHF radiation and etc. Common in the action of these devices is the stimulative orientation on the organs and parts of the person organism.

“Biofon” series apparatuses selectively affect only the disease-causing flora, that principally distinguishes them from the above mentioned devices. Due to high selectiveness and absence of harmful effects on the human organism, the apparatus has no contraindications and limitations for its application.

In the process of a treatment session, that lasts for 24 seconds, the apparatus generates the electromagnetic waves clusters of IR range nonthermal intensity. The radiation power is the thousandth parts of Watt.

Apparatus radiation spectrum conforms to the spectrum of a number of pathogenic microorganisms and their toxins on which it has an inactivated action. High selectiveness of the apparatus effect permits to inactivate and to weaken the protection functions only of the pathogenic microorganisms, not influencing the human commensal autoflora and his cells. Apparatus operation circuit is shown in the fig.1. The Rostov Research Institute of Microbiology and Parasitology has conducted the biochemical examinations of the patients after the apparatus exposure. The obtained results have shown the significant lowering of the infective activity of the pathogenic microorganisms. At that time it has not been revealed statistically significant deviations from the physiologic rate of indices, that characterize the functions of patient's liver, pancreas, kidneys.

The basic purpose of the “URO-Biofon” apparatus is the physiotherapeutic treatment of the chronic urethritis and prostatitis of chlamydious etiology and as well as the recovery, prevention and normalization of the urogenital system functions, disturbances of which are caused by the pathogenic flora action. As the result of the apparatus influence the chlamydia protection properties are decreased and their more effective elimination both inside the tissue cells and in the intercellular space takes place.

However, in practice accompanying pathogenic microflora in urogenital chlamydiosis is always available. Therefore, for more effective treatment of the chlamydiosis the “URO-Biofon” apparatus is programmed for inactivation of the series of accompanying pathogenic microorganisms, such as staphylococcus, pseudomonas, klebsiella, morganella, yersinia, proteus, bacteroides, gardnerella, enterococcus, spirochaeta, neisseria, trichomonade, mycobacteria, candida, mycoplasma, ureaplasma, papilloma viruses. It should be noted that “URO-Biofon” apparatuses equally inactivates the above mentioned pathogenic microorganisms as well as their L-forms and toxins. It is necessary to take into account that microorganism cells as the result of the apparatus influence get sublethal injuries and their further fate depends on the fact, if they are able to recover the injured systems. So the maximum efficiency is achieved, when the interval between the sessions is less than the time of the microorganism cell recovery. As an example we give the mean statistical process of the Staphylococcus aureus activity recovery after the exposure by the “URO-Biofon” apparatus (fig.2,3). Naturally the above mentioned microorganisms do not exhaust the total spectrum of the attendant pathogenic flora in chlamydious urethritis. However, their inactivation will be an additional positive contribution to the complex treatment of this disease.

On of the advantages of this apparatus is a noninvasive way of its application and in the ambulatory environment the patients can use the apparatus themselves. Small duration of the session and short duration of the procedures are the advantages of the “URO-Biofon” apparatus as well. To carry out the high effective physiotherapeutic treatment of the urogenital system the following periodicity of the treatment sessions, performed by the “URO-Biofon” is recommended depending on the disease form.

In the mild form:

- 4 sessions in the 1st month,

- 2 sessions in the 2nd and 3rd months,

- 1 session in the 4th and 5th months of the treatment,

- i.e. in total: seven sessions In the medium form:

- 7 sessions in the 1st month,

- 4 sessions in the 2nd and 3rd months,

- 2 sessions in the 4th and 5th months,

- 1 session in the 6th and 7th months of the treatment,

- i.e. in total: 14 sessions.

In the heavy form:

- 8 sessions in the 1st month,

- 6 sessions in the 2nd and 3rd months,

- 4 sessions in the 4th and 5th months,

- 2 sessions in the 6th and 8th months of the treatment,

- i.e. in total: 20 sessions.

For disease prevention after the accidental sexual intercourses it is recommended to perform the treatment session on the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 8th days.

To recover the commensal autoflora of the urogenital and reproductive systems (e.g. after intensive treatment with the antibiotics) and to increase the resistance to infective diseases, it is recommended to carry out the treatment sessions according the following scheme:

- in the 1st month - on the 1st, 4th, 8th, 15th and 29th days one treatment session a day;

- in the 2nd and 3rd months – twice a month by one treatment session a day;

- in the 4th and 12th months – once a month.

It should be noted, that the commensal autoflora recovery is performed only at the expense of the pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic flora suppression in active as well as in the L-form. And increase of the human body resistance to infective diseases is a result of full recovery of the commencal autoflora, and occurs in average in 12-18 months.

Treatment of the patients by the “URO-Biofon” apparatus can be performed also alongside with the antibacterial and anti-inflammatory therapy. In this case it is possible to decrease the course doses and the duration of the antibacterial preparations use by two or more times.

In conclusion it should be noted that the availability of such new distinguishing advantages as high selectiveness of apparatus effect, absence of the harmful influence on the organism, capability to recover the person commensal autoflora and to increase the organism resistance to infections allow the apparatus to take a suitable place among the other physiotherapeutic apparatuses and promote more effective treatment of the urogenital diseases.
