Report on complex therapy of patients with urogenital infections using the "Uro-Biofon" apparatus based on materials of KMLDO urologic department over a period from August 1, 1999 to December 1, 1999.

Over the period of reporting 100 patients with urogenital infections were treated. In conformity with an infection agent the control group comprised:

• Chlamydiosis infection - 40 men
• Proteus - 20 men
• Escherichia coli - 10 men
• Ureaplasma - 15 men
• Mycoplasma - 5 men
• Gardnerelliasis - 5 men
• Candidiosis - 5 men.

• Total blood test
• Total analysis of urine
• Common analysis of prostate secretion
• Bacterial inoculation of prostate secretion
• Immunofermentative test of blood: chlamydiosis, herpes, cytomegalovirus.
• Precipitation test - scrapes of urethra and neck of the uterus for chlamydiosis, ureaplasma, mycoplasma, gardnerellisis
• Ejaculate - total test
• Inoculation of ejaculate for flora and antibiotic sensivity
• US investigation of the urogenital system
• Urethro- and cystoscopy by indications.

The patients were distributed in comformity with diagnosis in the following order:

1. Chronic urethritis - 20 men
2. Acute urethritis - 5 men
3. Chronic cystitis - 20 men
4. Chronic prostatitis - 40 men
5. Chronic orchiepididymitis - 5 men
6. Chronic colpitis - 5 men
7. Chronic adnexitis - 5 men.

The tratment was performed according to the standard scheme using antibacterial therapy based on excreted flora and antibiotic sensitivity.

Nonspecific immunotherapy - pyragenal by the scheme (beginning from 2.5 mg at intervals of 1 day with an addition of 5 mg at a time, intramuscular, number of procedures - 10).

Autohemotherapy at one day-intervals by scheme number of procedures - 10

Cyclopheronum or Neovir by scheme number of procedures - 10.

Trichopol at gardnereliasis by 0.53 times a day, number of procedures - 10.

Vitamin therapy: aevitum 2.0 intramuscular at a time; decamevitum, undevitum or centrum in required dosage.

Suppositories: Proctosedyl per rectum or vaginal betadine intravaginal.

Physical therapy of the prostate or scrotum region: lidase or hydrocortizonum electrophoresis, СМВ, ДМВ, magnitotherapy, D'Arsenval, "Intraphone-1" per rectum etc.

The "Uro-Biofon" therapy was conducted as a part of complex treatment according to the standard method.

Sessions: 1^st day, 2^nd day, 4^th day, 8^th day

Twice a week - 2 weeks; once a week - one week; twice a month - 2 months

The procedure duration - 22 seconds.

The distance up to 1.5 m from a patient.

The procedure number ranged from 1 to 10.

The check of treatment efficiency was provided on the basis of complaints, anamnesis, objective data, US-monitoring, laboratory findings (analysis of the urine, prostate secretion, ejaculate, bacterial inoculation of flora and antibiotic sensitivity), immunofermentative test of blood, precipitin test: scrapes of urethra and neck of uterus).

The "Uro-Biofon" apparatus is simple and reliable in service. The side effects, the complications or pathologic reactions were not observed.

The data obtained will allow to make definite conclusions that "Uro-Biofon" apparatus used in complex therapy of patients with urogenital infections considerably increases the efficiency of the given pathology treatment.

The apparatus is desirable for practical application both in stationary and ambulatory conditions.
