Experience on application of “Uro-Biofon” apparatus for IR-therapy in treating acute infections of men’s urinary tracts

Over a period from 1998 to 1999. 88 patients with acute urinary tract infections were observed. The average age was equal to 24.3 ± 0.2 year. All the patients seeking help had fallen ill after accidental sexual contacts within 1-5 days.

The following distribution of the patients by infection groups were established:

I group – acute gonorrhea – 65 patients

II group – acute gonorrhea and trichomoniasis – 5 patients

III group – gardnerelliasis and trichomoniasis – 6 patients

IV group – acute gonorrhea, mycoplasmosis and ureaplasmosis – 6 patients

V group – acute gonorrhea and gardnerelliasis – 12 patients

All patients were examined by complex methods. The diagnoses were confirmed by serologic, microscopic and immunofermental methods of examinations. The night manifestations for the patients of group IV were not revealed (the diagnosis was established on the basis of the immunological tests).

All patients had evident clinical signs of acute urogenital infections: pruritus and urethra stings, sharp pains on micturition, abundant mucosal and purulent urethra discharges. Nobody had taken chemical preparations (drugs) before examinations. The examination time – the first 24 hours from the disease’ development. Localization of affection – total urethritis. The therapy of the patients using the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus was performed without taking chemical preparations and antibiotics according to the following scheme:

The first five days – one session at a time every two hours.

The 6^th and 7^th days – one session every four hours.

Beginning from the 8^th day – one session a day (for prophylactic purposes) at two-day intervals up to the 16^th day.

It should be noted that the clinical symptoms of 76% patients were completely stopped over 3-5 day interval of the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus application.

All patients passed control examinations on the 9^th day. The data of microscopic and immunobiochemical methods of examinations have shown complete freedom from microorganisms in the specimens under test. The control tests performed every 3 and 6 months after treatment have demonstrated no relapses of diseases.

Thus, our observational data have proved the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus effectiveness in treating patients with acute infections of the urinary tract. The apparatus can be also used as a remedy for venereal disease self-prophylaxis.
