Samara CityReport on the basic therapy conducting using the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus.The physicians of the Samara Regional Skin-Venereological Dispensary from the August 23, 1999 to the November 30, 1999 carried out the ambulant treatment of 32 patients, suffering from urogenital mycoplasmosis (ureaplasmosis), candidiasis, bacterial vaginosis, using the “Biofon” apparatus for IR therapy (urogenital), not using the basic antibacterial, antifungal therapy. For diagnosis of the infections, transferred by the reproductive tract the following methods were used: bacterioscopic, bacteriologic, mycoplasmas, ureaplasmas antigens. Topical diagnosis of the pathologic process in the genital organs was carried out by means of ultrasonic, urethroscopy palpatory investigation of the prostate and the seminal vesicles with the investigation of their secretion, bimanual investigation of women, 2-glasses sample of men. The methods of treatment by “Biofon” were changed, since most of the patients refused of such long treatment course (2-4 months), recommended by the operation manual for the apparatus. Sessions were performed one time a day or in a day, disposing the apparatusat the level of the external genital organs at the distance of 0.2-0.5 m. In total 32 patients were treated (7 patients by various causes stopped the course). There were 7 men and 25 women, the average age of the men was 21.2 years, women – 28.4 years. 25% of the patients had the prevalent subjectively asymptomatic course of the disease. However in the clinical inspection 92% of patients revealed the diseases symptoms. 3 women have combined affection by urogenital ureaplasmosis, bacterial vaginosis and candidiasic vaginitis. Results of the medical investigationsClinical and laboratory monitoring of patient’s recovery was performed after the 10th and 15th sessions. When 8 patients had positive results, the treatment course was prolonged to 20 procedures and for 2 – to 28 procedures. In the result 3 patients (93%) have recovered.
The more effective treatment was observed in less duration of the disease. The negative side effects, connected with the “Biofon” apparatus action during the procedures were not revealed. Thus, the “Biofon” apparatus for IR therapy (urogenital) may be used for the treatment of the urogenital ureaplasmosis, especially in the cases when it is impossible to use the antibacterial preparations.
