Uro-Biofon. The results

We have already presented to your attention a unique home “Uro-Biofon” apparatus, designed to prevent and to treat the urogenital system diseases.

We want to acquaint you with the given apparatus in more detail. At the present time the apparatus has no analogues in the world.

The results of medical tests allow to tell about the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus as high effective auxiliary facility for treating the urogenital diseases. We give you the examples from some test records.

Consulting and Polyclinic department of the Central Research Skin-Venereological Institute of the RF Ministry of Health (from October 10, 1997 to April 15, 1998):

The “Uro-Biofon” apparatus was used for treating the chronic urethritis and urethroprostatitis of the chlamydious etiology.

The “Uro-Biofon” physiotherapeutic apparatus was used in the conditions of outpatient department for 20 patients in the age of 27-48 years with the determined diagnosis of chronic urethritis (8 patients) and urethroprostatitis (12 patients) of the Chlamydious etiology. A control group consisted of 20 patients suffering from urogenital chlamydiosis.

To determine the diagnosis and to evaluate the results of the treatment efficiency complex clinic-laboratory examination was performed.

Treating of the patients of a main group using the physiotherapeutic IR-therapy “Uro-Biofon” apparatus was carried out on a background of antibacterial and anti-inflammatory therapy. The “Uro-Biofon” apparatus was used by the following scheme:

the 1^st month – 7 procedures (1^st, 2^nd, 4^th, 8^th, 11^th, 15^th, 22^nd days);

the 2^nd month – 4 procedures

The control examinations were performed in one month after treatment completion.

Etiological recovery in the main group of patients, treated by using the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus occurred for 18 from 20 patients and for 15 from 20 patients of the control group.

At this time the recommended antibacterial preparations course doses for chlamydiosis were reduced for the patients of the main group. After the treatment completion most patients showed the improvement of the clinic-laboratory indices.

In the process of medical tests the patients of the main group did not reveal the side local and common negative phenomena, connected with the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus action.

The comparative evaluation of the treating efficiency of the patients of the main group and control groups showed the more expressed antichlamydious effect for the patients subjected to the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus influence at lowering the recommended doses of the antichlamydious preparations.

So, the medical tests of the physiotherapeutic “Uro-Biofon” apparatus showed that the apparatus action has the following:

• expressed antichlamydious effect;
• possibility to be used with the medicaments at lowering the course doses and duration of antibacterial preparations application;
• absence of obvious contraindications and negative side phenomena;
• possibility to be used in the conditions of outpatient department. The “Uro-Biofon” apparatus for IR-therapy is convenient in use, has small duration of a treating session in the absence of the preparing procedures. The apparatus is aseptic, the procedures are painless.

On the base of the above mentioned we think that it is expedient to recommend the physiotherapeutic IR-therapy “Uro-Biofon” apparatus for wide practical application in the outpatient and inpatient departments for treating the chronic urethritis and prostatitis of the chlamydious etiology.

Medical tests were performed by the “Uro-Biofon” IR-therapy apparatus without the application of the basic antibiotic therapy, using the methods, described in the Operation Manual.

In the course of medical and clinical tests of the “Uro-Biofon” IR-therapy apparatus the treatment of 47 patients, suffering from urogenital chlamydiosis (25 women, 22 men) was performed. The average age of women was 26.7 years, men – 28.3 years. Diseases duration was from 5 months to 8 years (in average 3.4 years). Most of treated patients were married couples (15 family couples). Among the men 4 were unmarried, 3 – divorcee; among the women 6 were unmarried and 4 – divorcee.

In most cases both sexual parthners were treated by means of the “Uro-Biofon” IR-therapy apparatus. The previous antibiotic therapy concerning the urogenital diseases, got 22 patients, 14 patients of them earlier got more than two courses of antibacterial therapy. All patients had clinical symptoms of the urogenital chlamydious infection.

Clinical and laboratory control of recovery was performed in one month after the therapy course completion. 38 patients (25 women and 13 men) were subjected to a control examination. Negative results were obtained for 30 patients (19 women, 11 men) positive – for 8 patients (6 women and 2 men). So, the treatment efficiency was 78,9%. Subjectively on the improvement of their condition pointed 5 women and 2 men, general state of 7 women and 2 men did not change. Clinical signs of the diseases kept more than half of patients.

More effective treatment was observed at noncomplicated course of infection and less disease duration.

“Uro-Biofon” IR-therapy apparatus is effective for treating the urogenital diseases, caused by the Chlamydiaceae.

In the process of medical tests 78.9% of patients have got etiological recovery.

Indications for the apparatus application are the diseases of the chlamydious etiology. Contraindications are not found.

“Uro-Biofon” IR-therapy apparatus is compact, convenient in use and the medical personnel easily becomes familiar with it. Apparatus advantages are relatively small (1-2 times a week) multiplicity of the procedures, minimum duration of the treating session, noninvasiness of the method, high clinical efficiency.

“Uro-Biofon” IR-therapy apparatus is a facility for treating the widely spread urogenital infections in the conditions of inpatient and outpatient departments.

“Uro-Biofon” IR-therapy apparatus is recommended for production in series and for application in the medical practice.

It is necessary to note, that the possibilities for “Uro-Biofon” apparatus application are not limited by the above mentioned recommendations. At present in one of the clinics in Nizhny Novgorod an experiment is conducted to study the possibility of the “Uro-Biofon” application in postoperative wards of the surgical department to reduce the probability of festers, caused by golden Staphylococcus and blue pus bacillus.

The efficiency of processing the operating rooms by the apparatus is also studied to prevent the hospital infections. Results of the experiment will be presented in the next number of our journal.
