Resolution by the results of preliminary veterinary tests of the urogenital “Uro-Biofon” apparatus for IR-therapy developed by the state owned enterprise “Izhevsky Engineering plant” (t. Izhevsk).

As a result of the “Uro-Biofon” application for therapy of sick animals (cattle, pigs of various sex and age groups), it has been found that in specific cases the electromagnetic IR exposure of nonthermal intensity will produce a remarkable improvement in their condition.

Thus, for instance, the apparatus tests on sows with the diagnosis of catarrhal mastitis have been completed with their recovery on the 10^th day for 60% of animals.

The apparatus exposure on infected wounds and the nipple cracks of the cattle udder has removed inflammatory reaction and caused an active granulation process. After five sessions (in a day) of exposure on cows of four years age with suppurative and cattarrhal mastitis having foci of abscess formation in the damaged udder lobe., the general condition of the cow improved. Within 10-day antibiotic therapy, the cow was healthy. The “Uro-Biofon” application for treatment of sick calves has demonstrated no pronounced therapeutic effect, among 10 calves the negligible improvement has been observed only for 4 calves, but the cough has not stopped. The “Uro-Biofon” treatment of 12 sucking pigs of two-week age with lesion of the gastroenteric tracts against the background of chemotherapy has demonstrated more pronounced therapeutic effect.

In all cases the preparation was used once every day in the morning over the period of 4-10 days. In all, such experiments were performed on 31 animals.

Conclusion

In the course of preliminary tests of animals, the recovery was achieved:

60% for diseases of pig’s mammary gland, 66% for infected wounds of the cattle udder nipples. The negligible condition improvement has been observed for the calves with bronchopneumonia. The minimal efficiency of treatment has been noted for animals with prolonged course of disease.

In application of the apparatus no complications have been detected. We consider, that it is necessary to conclude a contract and investigate the “Uro-Biofon” apparatus further to be applied for therapy of various diseases of farming animals in Udmurt Republic.
